Can I move cameras between subscriptions?

Yes, cameras in the IVA Cloud system can be freely moved between subscriptions. You can detach a camera from one slot and attach it to another at any time — even in a single operation, without an intermediate "no subscription" state.

How the archive behaves during a move:

  • When detaching a camera: recording of new data stops, but the already accumulated archive is not deleted — it is preserved on the server within the depth of the previous plan.
  • While unattached: no new recordings accumulate. This time period will be permanently missing from the archive — it cannot be restored even after re-attachment.
  • When re-attached to a subscription: the previous archive returns and becomes accessible again. At the same time, new recording starts from scratch from the moment of attachment.
  • When attached to a different plan: the camera immediately operates under the new plan's rules — new archive depth, new continuous recording limits.

This mechanism gives you flexibility to manage the system without losing accumulated data. For example, you can temporarily move a camera from PRO to Base to save costs, then move it back — the old 30-day archive will remain accessible.

⚠️ Please note. Any period during which a camera was not attached to an active subscription creates a "gap" in the archive. If continuity of recordings is important to you — try not to leave cameras without a subscription.
