What is the video stream throughput of IVA Edge?

The IVA Edge device provides a total video stream throughput of up to 100 Mbit/s. This is the combined bitrate of all cameras connected to a single adapter — not a per-camera limit.

The local network connection uses a Gigabit Ethernet port (up to 1 Gbit/s), which ensures bandwidth headroom and stable operation even under maximum load.

As a reference, typical IP camera bitrates are:

  • Full HD (1080p) — approximately 2–4 Mbit/s per camera;
  • 4MP — approximately 4–6 Mbit/s per camera;
  • 4K (8MP) — approximately 8–12 Mbit/s per camera.

Actual bitrate depends on camera settings: resolution, frame rate, codec (H.264 / H.265), and the scene being captured. For most scenarios with 8 Full HD or 4MP cameras, the 100 Mbit/s limit is more than sufficient.
